Spring Bird Walk 2018, part of our ‘Walks and activities in Derby' programme,

takes place on

 Sunday 13^th May, from 6 to 8 am.

 Join Darley and Nutwood Local Nature Reserve Management Group for a 1.5 mile, 2.4 kilometre early morning walk around the Nature Reserve to see the newly arrived migrant birds.  An opportunity to see chiff-chaff, willow warbler and whitethroat, as well as many other birds.  On a previous walk 35 bird species including kingfisher were spotted.

Members of the public who are interested should meet at Mill View Gardens by the toll bridge in Darley Abbey at 6am. 

The bird walk will finish at about 8am.  Please bring sturdy footwear as it is often muddy.  Binoculars are a great help, if you have some.

No dogs please, except registered assistance dogs.

All walks and activities in the programme are suitable for all the family, free of charge and a fun way for people to see more of the city and at the same time help improve their health.The programme is available in libraries, sports centres, Elvaston and Shipley Country Parks, Derby Tourist Information Centre, and can be downloaded from our Walking in Derby webpage.
