The 98th bird species has been sighted at Nutwood.

During his visit to the Reserve on August 23, Paul Highman sighted a Common Redstart (Phoenicurus phoenicurus). It was off the path down to the river at the north of Reserve).

The Common Redstart is the most widespread of the Redstarts in our region and is one of only 2 found in the UK, the other being the Black Redstart, which is much more uncommon.

This bird was probably on migration to either The South of the Sahara or to South Arabia, where they spend the winter.
