As you will have guessed the event was a bit of a wash-out, though John Gabb and I had a pleasant walk around in the wind and rain. There was little to hear or see.

However Monday's glorious weather, 30th April, brought out all we had hoped to see, including the following:

A Great spotted woodpecker

A Buzzard

A Kestrel

Two Chiffchaffs

Three Willow warblers

Four Whitethroats  - displaying over shrubs near the river. First of the year I think. (I'm sure this is the unidentified warbler we heard on Sunday,  John)!

A Swift - also first of the year I think.

Four House martins,  also seen on 28th April

Several Greenfinches

Two Bullfinches

There were also several butterflies, including peacock, small tortoiseshell, and orange-tip.

Best time of year for a visit.
