As Keith Dodd reported on October 16, 2009, a butterfly survey is being continued by Alan Jones in the summer of 2010.

A survey was carried out in 2009 using the transect method of the UK Butterfly Monitoring Scheme. As well as being passed to the UKBMS the data from the transect has been made available to the Reserve Management Group.

We can now publish the 2009 butterfly survey report which describes the butterfly species that were found on the site, the strength of their population and the other butterfly species which should be able to live there but were not found. It explains some of the beneficial effects of the existing management activities on the site and proposes new activities that would assist priority species of butterflies.
